Perforce is pushing synthetic data generation closer to where regulated enterprises actually run workloads: on-prem, CPU-only, and even air-gapped. Delphix AI folds masking, AI-driven generation, and delivery into a single DevOps data workflow aimed at reducing compliance friction and toolchain sprawl.
Perforce launches Delphix AI for secure, on-prem synthetic data generation
Perforce announced Delphix AI, a new capability inside its DevOps Data Platform designed to generate synthetic data using an embedded AI model. The company positioned the release around enterprise constraints that frequently block synthetic data adoption in practice: strict data residency requirements, security controls, and environments that cannot depend on external cloud services.
According to Perforce, Delphix AI runs on in-house infrastructure using CPU-only compute and supports air-gapped use cases. The pitch is consolidation: combining data masking, AI-driven synthetic data generation, and data delivery in one platform so DevOps and QA teams can provision safer datasets without stitching together multiple tools and processes.
- Security and residency constraints are becoming product requirements. CPU-only, on-prem, and air-gapped support targets teams in finance, healthcare, and government where “send it to the cloud” is not an option—and where synthetic data programs often stall.
- Toolchain consolidation reduces operational risk. Unifying masking, generation, and delivery can shrink the number of handoffs where sensitive data leaks, policies drift, or audit evidence gets lost.
- DevOps/QA enablement is the near-term buying center. Packaging synthetic data as part of a DevOps data platform frames synthetic datasets as a delivery problem (speed, repeatability, access control), not just a privacy technique.
- Governance teams get a clearer control plane. A single system for producing and distributing synthetic data can make it easier to enforce consistent rules around residency, access, and approved use—especially as synthetic data volumes scale.
Perforce says Delphix AI operates on-prem on CPU-only infrastructure and supports air-gapped environments.
