Editorial Standards
How we source, verify, and publish content on synthetic data, AI governance, and EU AI Act compliance.
1. Source Policy
All factual claims in Synthetic Data News articles must be traceable to at least one of the following primary source types:
- Peer-reviewed research papers (arXiv, ACM, IEEE, Nature, JMLR)
- Official government and regulatory documents (EU Official Journal, Federal Register, ISO standards)
- Primary company disclosures (press releases, technical reports, SEC filings)
- Verified statements from named subject-matter experts
Secondary sources (news reports, blog posts) may be cited for background context but not as the sole basis for technical claims. We maintain a research bibliography of key primary references.
2. AI Usage Disclosure
Synthetic Data News uses AI-assisted tools as part of its content production pipeline. Our approach:
- Drafting: AI language models may generate initial article drafts based on source materials gathered by our pipeline.
- Editorial review: All content published under the Synthetic Data News banner is reviewed for factual accuracy, editorial coherence, and appropriate sourcing before publication.
- Structured data: Article summaries, tags, and classifications may be generated or enhanced by AI models and reviewed by editorial staff.
- No hallucination policy: We do not publish claims that cannot be verified against primary sources. Fabricated citations or invented facts are treated as critical errors.
3. Independence and Conflicts of Interest
Synthetic Data News does not accept sponsored content or paid placements within editorial coverage.
CertifiedData.io is a related platform operated by the same organization as Synthetic Data News. We disclose this relationship transparently on our About page. Coverage of certification infrastructure and cryptographic verification of AI artifacts reflects editorial judgment about relevance to our audience, not commercial considerations.
4. Accuracy and Corrections
We are committed to correcting errors promptly and transparently. If you identify a factual error:
- Email [email protected] with the specific claim and the correct information with a source link.
- Corrections are appended to the relevant article with a date and description of what changed.
- For significant errors, we issue a correction notice at the top of the article.
5. Research Methodology
For research-oriented coverage (deep dives, explainers, regulatory analysis), our methodology includes:
- Cross-referencing multiple primary sources before drawing conclusions
- Distinguishing between established consensus and emerging or contested findings
- Linking to full-text research where publicly available
- Noting publication dates and potential limitations of cited studies
6. Scope and Coverage Boundaries
Synthetic Data News focuses on:
- Synthetic data generation, privacy, and certification
- AI governance frameworks and implementation
- EU AI Act and related regulatory developments
- Research on AI safety, auditability, and accountability
We do not publish general AI product reviews, investment advice, or marketing content for specific vendors.
7. Linking Policy
Outbound links to third-party sources are editorially selected. External links userel="noopener noreferrer" for security. We do not participate in link exchange programs. Internal links to our own pillar and cluster pages reflect editorial organization of topic coverage, not optimization for commercial gain.
